INDIANAPOLIS (1/20/2025) — University of Detroit Mercy men’s basketball rookie Ryan Kalambay tallied season highs for his first career double-double, and for that, the Horizon League honored him as its Under Armour #HLMBB Freshman of the Week.

Kalambay posted a season-high 13 points and 11 rebounds against #MetroSeries-rival Oakland. The Canadian big man was 4-of-8 from the field and 5-of-6 at the line, also registering an assist, a block and a steal in 31 minutes of action.

He is the second freshman to win the award, as Nate Johnson garnered it back in November.
