CINCINNATI — The Xavier University Musketeers, 12-7 overall and 4-4 in the BIG EAST Conference, are back on the road to take on the No. 20/21 St. John’s University Red Storm, 16-3 overall and 7-1 in the BIG EAST, on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Madison Square Garden in New York. Xavier enters the game with a three-game winning streak, while St. John’s has won five-straight games.
Xavier is playing the second of three-straight games against AP Top 25 competition. XU is coming off a win at then-No. 7 Marquette this past Saturday and plays at No. 20 St. John’s on Wednesday and hosts No. 19 UConn on Saturday. This is the second time this season that Xavier has played three-straight games against AP Top 25 competition.

• Xavier, 12-7, has won three-straight games: at DePaul, Villanova and at Marquette.
• Xavier will play three-straight games against AP Top 25 competition for the second time this season. XU is coming off a win at then-No. 7 Marquette this past Saturday, plays at No. 20 St. John’s on Wednesday and hosts No. 19 UConn on Saturday.
• Xavier’s win at No. 7 Marquette marked XU’s 22nd all-time win vs. the AP Top 10, including its fourth win vs. an AP Top 10 team in a true road game.
• Xavier is third in the BIG EAST and 20th in the nation in free throw percentage at .783. XU has three players ranked in the top 10 in the BIG EAST in free throw percentage: Dailyn Swain (sixth at .818), Ryan Conwell (seventh at .816) and Dayvion McKnight (ninth at .812).
• Xavier leads the BIG EAST in fastbreak points (seventh in the nation in at 17.3 ppg.) and is second in 3-point percentage (28th in the nation at .381). Xavier is third in the BIG EAST in free throw percentage (20th in the nation at .783) and assist-to-turnover ratio (49th in the nation at 1.45) and fourth in assists per game (38th in the nation at 16.7 apg.).
• Xavier graduate student Zach Freemantle posted his 25th career double-double (fifth of the season) with 14 points and 10 rebounds at Marquette on Saturday. Freemantle, who missed Xavier’s first three BIG EAST games due to a knee injury, leads the team in scoring (sixth in the BIG EAST at 16.8 ppg.) and leads the team in rebounding (fourth in the BIG EAST at 7.8 rpg.).
• Xavier junior Ryan Conwell was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll this week for the second time this season. Conwell, who averaged 20 ppg. in two XU wins this past week, scored a
collegiate career-high 34 points (28 in the second half) in the win over Villanova on Jan. 14.
• Xavier’s Ryan Conwell is second on the team and seventh in the BIG EAST in scoring at 16.5 ppg. He ranks third in the BIG EAST and 31st in the nation at 3.0 3-point field goals made per game. His total of 57 3-pointers made is second in the BIG EAST and 19th in the nation.
• Xavier graduate student Dayvion McKnight leads XU in assists at 4.8 apg. (sixth in the BIG EAST) and is second in the BIG EAST and 14th in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at 3.41. He is ninth in the BIG EAST in free throw percentage at .812.
• Xavier sophomore Dailyn Swain, who had 12 points and nine rebounds (six offensive) at Marquette, is 19th in the BIG EAST in rebounding (5.2 rpg.) and 12th in def. reb. (4.2 drpg.). He is sixth in the BIG EAST in both field goal percentage at .545 and free throw percentage at .818.
