COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday. Freshman guard Jaloni Cambridge was named Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week following her performance in the road win against Wisconsin on Thursday night. Cambridge was previously named Big Ten Freshman of the Week last week.
Cambridge led the Buckeyes to a 69-60 road win against Wisconsin this past week before missing the game at Penn State due to an illness. In the win vs. the Badgers, Cambridge was the game’s leading scorer with 27 points – her third 20-point game in her past four appearances. She added a career-high eight rebounds and also tallied four assists and a steal.
Cambridge reached double figures for the 10th time this season and did so with 8:45 left in the second quarter. She put the team on her back in the second quarter by scoring the Buckeyes’ first 13 points of the quarter and making her first six field goal attempts in the quarter. Cambridge finished the game 11-of-16 (.688) from the field. This season, Cambridge is averaging 15.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
