COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Buckeyes return home to host Indiana in the first of two regular season meetings on Friday night at Value City Arena. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. and the game will be televised nationally on FOX. Gus Johnson and Ohio State legend Jim Jackson will call the action.

The game can also be heard on the Ohio State Radio Network from Learfield. Neil Sika and former Buckeye captain Ron Stokes are on the call.

  • This will be the 201st all-time meeting between Ohio State and Indiana. Officially, the Hoosiers lead the series 109-84 after taking into account six vacated games (three wins by each team).
  • The Hoosiers have won four of the last five meetings, including both games last year. The teams have split the last 10 meetings 5-5, with the Hoosiers holding a slight seven-point edge in the overall point total.
  • The Buckeyes fell behind by 17 points in the first half at Wisconsin on Tuesday, but rallied back in the second half and trailed by just a point in the final minute. Wisconsin held strong from the line and the Buckeyes weren’t quite able to complete the comeback but the second half push left a bit of a different feeling than most trips to the Kohl Center.
  • Bruce Thornton was the catalyst in the second half, scoring 19 of his game-high 21 points in the second session. He scored the Buckeyes’ first seven points of the half to kick-start the run and was 6-of-10 from the floor and 6-of-6 from the line in the second half.
  • For the year, Thornton is averaging 17.4 points and 4.4 assists per game. Only three Buckeyes have averaged 17 or more points in a season over the last 12 seasons.
  • Sean Stewart has played well as of late and most of his impact has been felt on the glass. The Orlando, Fla., native has averaged 7.4 rebounds per game over the last five games. He’s led the team in rebounding six times with four of those times coming in the last five games. He’s also shooting over 65 percent from the floor and posted season-highs of 14 points and nine rebounds last week vs. No. 15 Oregon.
  • Freshman big man Ivan Njegovan has played in just nine games but Tuesday at Wisconsin was his most impactful game. With the other Buckeye bigs in foul trouble, he stepped in and played a season-high 10:51 and finished with five points and a season-high five rebounds. All five of his rebounds came on the offensive glass.
  • The Buckeyes last three losses have come against Top 25 opponents and by a combined 11 points.
  • Indiana enters the game with a record of 13-5 overall and 4-3 in the league. The Hoosiers have dropped their last two games by 25 points, losing at Iowa last Saturday and losing at home to Illinois on Tuesday. Oumar Ballo is fifth in the country in field goal percentage at 67.9 percent.
