DAYTON – Andrea Holden turned in a complete stat line that included an 11-point effort in his first collegiate game to spark the Wright State men’s basketball team in a 74-51 home victory over Green Bay in Horizon League action inside the Nutter Center as four Raiders finished with double-digit scoring nights.

Wright State (8-8, 2-3 HL) opened the calendar year with a win for the sixth-straight season, while Green Bay (2-14, 0-5 HL) dropped its 11th-straight contest. The Raiders now reset and remain at home, getting ready to welcome Oakland to the Nutter Center January 9.

On Thursday, Holden gave the Raiders a lift off the bench, playing 22 minutes and going 5-of-6 from the floor on the way to his 11 points. Originally slated to redshirt, Wright State reversed course and Holden rewarded the decision, adding seven rebounds, three steals and a pair of blocks to his scoring output in his collegiate debut.

After the sides traded baskets in the opening minutes, Wright State rolled off a 20-2 scoring run over a seven-minute stretch in the first half to grab a comfortable advantage before taking a 15-point lead into the break. The Raiders didn’t take their foot off the gas in the second half, keeping the margin in double figures throughout the second stanza and holding Green Bay to just seven points over the final eight minutes to close the night.

Wright State finished the win shooting 48 percent overall (29-of-60), passing out 20 assists on those 29 made baskets. The Raiders hit eight three-pointers (8-of-21, 38 percent) and were 67 percent at the stripe (8-of-12), while defensively they held Green Bay to 35 percent overall shooting (19-of-54) after a 28 percent mark in the first half. The visitors were just 4-of-21 (19 percent) from three-point range and 69 percent (9-of-13) at the free throw line.

Brandon Noel led all players with 20 points, adding five rebounds and a pair of assists, while Logan Woods was 6-of-9 from the floor on the way to 14 points, adding five rebounds and five assists. Jack Doumbia was the final Raider in double figures with 11 points of his own, while Michael Imariagbe pulled down a season-best 12 rebounds while adding six points. Alex Huibregtse passed out five assists of his own while chipping in five points, Solomon Callaghan added four points and a pair of assists and Andrew Welage connected on a three-pointer to round out the Raider scoring.

The Raiders received scoring contributions and rebound tallies from all eight players who saw the floor, while seven of the eight dished out at least one assist and four grabbed a steal. Wright State finished the win with a 41-29 rebounding edge, including grabbing 32 boards off the defensive glass.

Jeremiah Johnson finished with 14 points as the lone player in double figures to lead nine Green Bay players in scoring in the loss.
