COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State shot 60 percent in the second half to pull away from Indiana State and cruise to a 103-83 victory on Sunday afternoon inside the Value City Arena.

The Buckeyes have finished non-conference action and are 9-4 overall on the year.

Junior guard Bruce Thornton followed his 30-point effort last week against No. 4 Kentucky with a career-high 33 points on Sunday. He becomes the first Buckeye with back-to-back 30-poing games since Evan Turner had back-to-back 31-point games on March 13 and 14 of 2010. Thornton also pulled down a season-high six rebounds and had three assists.

Ques Glover was 6-of-9 from the floor and finished with 15 points and five assists. Devin Royal and Aaron Bradshaw both scored 13 points. Royal was 7-of-10 from the line and swiped a career-high four steals.

John Mobley Jr. was the fifth Buckeye in double-figures with 11 points and three assists. Sean Stewart finished with nine points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

The Buckeyes shot 55.7 percent for the game, including 60.7 percent in the second half. This was the ninth time this season they have shot 50 percent or better in a game. They also had a season-high 11 steals and turned 19 ISU turnovers into 19 points.

Thornton scored 17 of his 33 in the opening half as the Buckeyes led 52-43 at the break. Indiana State made nine three-pointers in the first half to stay within striking distance. Glover also provided a spark for the Buckeyes off the bench in the first half with 10 points on 4of-5 shooting.

Sean Stewart scored six consecutive points with a pair of dunks to give the Buckeyes a 59-49 lead just two and a half minutes into the second half, forcing an ISU timeout. That run help spur the Buckeyes to a 15-point lead and control of the game.

Indiana State hit its first three of the half to cut the lead to 83-73 with nine minutes remaining. The Sycamores wouldn’t get any closer as the Buckeyes went on a 9-1 run over the next four minutes to put the game away. The only drama in the final minutes was if the Buckeyes would hit the 100-point mark for the third time this season. Freshman big man Ivan Njegovan hit a turnover jumper from the block with 54 seconds to play to push the team over the 100-point mark.
