Joins Texas Legends in NBA G-League |
DAYTON – One of the top scorers in Wright State and Horizon League history, Tanner Holden has signed with the Texas Legends of the NBA G League to begin his professional career, the organization announced on Monday. The Legends are affiliates of the Dallas Mavericks.
The Ohio native joins the Legends as the G League season is kicking off, while Holden becomes the second Raider to play for the franchise, joining former Wright State standout Loudon Love, who was drafted by the Legends 11th overall in the 2021 NBA G League Draft.
“We are excited for Tanner to begin his professional career,” Wright State head coach Clint Sargent said. “The impact he had on our program goes far beyond his stats and record book numbers. We will continue to follow his career closely and wish him the best of luck.”
Holden finished his Wright State career with 124 games played as a Raider, scoring 2,003 points in the Green & Gold, the third-most in program history. He also ended his Raider career with the most free throws made in program history, while finishing with the third-most rebounds in program history and has the fourth-most minutes played and field goals made as a Raider. A three-time Horizon League selection, with a pair of first team honors and a third team recognition, Holden was also on the HL all-freshman team to begin his career.
Wright State returns to action and kicks off the 2025 calendar year on Thursday night as the Raiders welcome Green Bay to the Nutter Center in a 7 p.m. tipoff.
