ATHENS, Ohio — The Ohio men’s basketball team (4-5) is back on the road this Saturday, Dec. 14 when they head to Huntington, W. Va. to take on Marshall (5-5). Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. inside the Cam Henderson Center. The game can be seen on ESPN+.
The Bobcats’ matchup can also be heard on the Ohio Sports Network from Learfield, presented by Holzer Health System. Jason Toy begins his first season on the mic for the Bobcats, and will be joined by Ohio alum Rob Cornelius, who has been a part of the broadcasts for two decades. WXTQ (Power 105) in Athens returns as the 11-station network’s flagship.
STORYLINES
• This is the 109th all-time meeting between Ohio and Marshall.
• Ohio leads the all-time series, 57-51.
• Ohio is 6-9 against The Herd in their last 15 meetings dating back to 2004-05.
• Ohio and Marshall last met on Dec. 9, 2023 in Athens, with Ohio losing, 74-69, inside the Convo.
• Ohio has not won in Huntington since Nov. 30, 2011.

SCOUTING MARSHALL
Marshall enters the matchup with the Bobcats with a 5-5 record after falling to Wright State, 88-79 on Wednesday night in Dayton.
Marshall averages 76.7 points a game, while shooting .426 from the field, .270 from three and .687 from the line, while opponents are averaging 73.8 points per game, while shooting .449 from the field, .323 from three and .709 from the line.
Marshall averages 37.3 rebounds, 14.0 assists, 8.6 steals and 3.9 blocks a game, while forcing 14.4 turnovers a game. Meanwhile, Marshall opponents average 36.3 rebounds, 10.0 assists, 6.6 steals and 3.1 blocks a game, while forcing Marshall to turn the ball over an average of 12.3 times a contest.
Individually, Obinna Anochili-Killen averages 11.6 points a game, while recording 5.7 rebounds and shooting .492 from the field. Nate martin adds 11.6 points a game to go along with 7.9 rebounds and a .616 field goal percentage, while Mikal Dawson averages 10,9 points a game.
SCOUTING OHIO
Ohio is currently 4-5 overall after defeating Morehead State, 88-76 on Saturday inside the Convocation Center.
Ohio is averaging 78.7 points per game, while shooting .451 from the field, .333 from three and .765 from the line, while opponents are averaging 79.7 points per game, while shooting .477 from the field, .454 from three and .692 from the line.
Ohio is averaging 33.0 rebounds, 13.3 assists, 3.6 blocks and 7.3 steals per game, while forcing 13.0 turnovers a contest. Meanwhile, opponents are averaging 36.4 rebounds, 14.2 assists, 2.8 blocks and 6.7 steals per game, while forcing Ohio to turn the ball over 11.1 times a game.
