INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League the 2024-25 Under Armour men’s basketball preseason poll. Green Bay has been chosen to finish eighth in the conference this year, with 171 voting points. Milwaukee and Purdue Fort Wayne shared the top spot, each receiving 421 votes from the league’s coaches and media members.
GB brings a whole new look roster into the 2024 season, with 13 newcomers including eight freshmen and five transfers, with only five players from last season’s lineup returning to the squad this season. The Phoenix hired head coach Doug Gottlieb in May, with Gottlieb bringing not just his well-known sports mind, but also an all-new coaching staff cast to Titletown. Gottlieb will be joined on the sidelines by assistant coaches Damon Archibald, Aerick Sanders, Jordan McCabe, as well as Director of Operations Dennis Harrington and Director of Video and Analytics Kaden LeCapitaine.
No Green Bay players were named to the preseason All-Conference teams. A year ago, the Phoenix squad was picked to finish last in the same poll before a third-place Horizon League finish. Coach Gottlieb will look to exceed expectations for the Phoenix for the second consecutive season.
