COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 21 Ohio State hits the road for the first true road game of the season on Friday night as the Buckeyes will play at No. 23 Texas A&M. Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. ET from Reed Arena and the game will be televised on the SEC Network. Mike Morgan and Pat Bradley will have the call.

  • This will be the fifth meeting between the two programs. The Buckeyes are 1-3 against A&M which includes a 73-66 loss to the Aggies in Columbus last season.
  • This is the second of four SEC opponents on the schedule this season. The Buckeyes beat Texas in the season-opener in Las Vegas last week and will also play Auburn and Kentucky next month.
  • All-time, Ohio State has a record of 45-42 against teams currently in the SEC.
  • The Buckeyes have opened the season with a pair of wins, beating Texas 80-72 on opening night in Las Vegas and then besting Youngstown State 81-47 in the home-opener on Monday evening.
  • Ohio State has made 10 or more threes in each of the first two games, marking the first time in program history the Buckeyes have hit double-digit threes in the first two games of a season.
  • A big part of that three-point production has come from freshman John Mobley Jr. He made the first seven three-point attempts of his career across the first two games and is 7-of-8 overall. He was a perfect 4-for-4 in the opener against Texas, becoming the first freshman ever to make four or more threes without a miss against a ranked team in their debut. Mobley Jr. has scored 30 points through the first two games.
  • Junior point guard Bruce Thornton has shown through the first two games why he is considered one of the top point guards in the country. He is averaging 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and shooting 75.0 percent from the floor.
  • Big man Aaron Bradshaw had a good showing in his first game in front of the Ohio State fans on Monday. He led the team with 16 points and eight rebounds while also tying a career-high with three blocks.
  • Fifth-year guard Meechie Johnson Jr. is just two points away from 1,000 in his career. He has scored 153 points in 45 games with the Buckeyes and also had 845 in two seasons at South Carolina.
  • Head coach Jake Diebler is in his first full season as head coach and has an overall record of 10-3. Two of those wins have come against ranked teams.
  • Texas A&M dropped it opener at UCF on Nov. 4 but rebounded with wins over East Texas A&M and Lamar to sit at 2-1 on the season.
