DAYTON – The Wright State men’s basketball team remains on the road, this time heading north for a Wednesday matchup at Toledo. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in northwest Ohio, and fans can follow the action several ways – via live stats, by watching on ESPN+ or by tuning in to the home for Raider Basketball 101.5 HANK FM and WING 1410 AM. Chris Collins and Jim Brown will have all the play-by-play radio feed.
Fans can tune into 101.5 HANK FM live over the air in the Dayton metro area, as well stream the station live nationwide through a variety of free streaming apps. LAST TIME OUT
Wright State saw Brandon Noel and Alex Huibregtse combine for 53 points on Saturday afternoon as the Raiders closed the afternoon on a 16-6 run to grab an 8-68 road victory at Miami (OH). Noel finished with 27 points and pulled down 16 rebounds, including 12 on the defensive end, and added three blocks and three steals. Huibregtse poured in 18 of his 26 points in the second half with a 4-of-6 mark from three-point range, pulling down six rebounds of his own with a trio of steals. Five other Raiders found the scoring column, with Jack Doumbia turning in eight points, Andrew Welage notching six points on a pair of threes, and both Logan Woods and Norris chipping in five points, with four points from Michael Imariagbe.
HORIZON LEAGUE AL
Alex Huibregtse was named the Horizon League Player of the Week on Monday afer turning in a trio of double-digit scoring games to open the season. He recorded scoring totals of 16, 22 and 26 points and was 25-of-39 from the floor overall for a 64 percent overall shooting mark, adding 10 rebounds, eight assists and five steals to his final weekly stat line.
READY FOR THE ROCKETS
Wright State and Toledo meet for the 16th time in program history on Wednesday night and for the second straight year. The Raiders have won three of the last four in the series, including the last meeting in Toledo – a 79-72 road Raider victory on December 21, 2019.
ROCKET FUEL
– Toledo is 1-1 on the young season, dropping its opener last Monday at Troy before bouncing back with a road win over Marshall on Saturday afternoon.
– Toledo was 20-12 overall last season with a 12-3 mark at home. Toledo is 50-7 over the last four seasons in Savage Arena.
– Javan Simmons was the 2023-24 MAC Freshman of the Year and was a 2024-25 Preseason All-MAC First Team selection. Through two games, he is leading the Rockets with 17.5 points per game, while his 7.0 rebounds per game are tied for first on the roster.
STREAKS ARE WILD
Brandon Noel has recorded three double-digit scoring games to open the season, giving him 14 straight contests with double figures scoring dating back to last season, a stretch that extends farther to 10-plus points in 17 of his last 18 games overall. Noel has scored 20-plus points 15 times in his career to date. Alex Huibregtse has opened the year three double-digit scoring games of his own and now has 12 straight double digit scoring games since last season. His 26 points Nov. 9 at Miami (OH) are the second-most he’s scored in a game behind his 32-point performance last January at Cleveland State.
