  • With its 35-7 victory, Ohio State improved to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in Big Ten Conference play. The Buckeyes are 48-15-3, with a 32-9-1 record at Ohio Stadium, in the all-time series against Iowa.
  • Coach Ryan Day owns a career record of 61-8 at Ohio State and is 35-2 when playing at home. He remains undefeated against Iowa with a 2-0 record.
  • Will Howard found Emeka Egbuka for a 14-yard touchdown pass on the first offensive possession. Howard was a perfect 6-for-6 passing on the drive.
  • Howard finished the day 21-of-25 for 209 yards through the air with four touchdowns and one interception.
  • Howard also ran a season-high 10 times for 28 yards and a touchdown.
  • Emeka Egbuka had a career day, tying a career high with nine receptions for 71 yards and setting a career high with three touchdown receptions.
  • Egbuka has 19 career touchdowns receptions and moved up to 10th on the all-time leaderboard, where he is tied with Terry McLaurin, Dane Sanzenbacher and Joey Galloway.
  • Egbuka also broke into the Top 10 list in program history for career receiving yards. With 2,290 career receiving yards, he surpassed Doug Donley to move into 10th all-time.
  • After a quiet first half, Jeremiah Smith caught a deep ball for 53 yards in the third quarter. On the very next play, Smith made a spectacular one-handed four-yard touchdown grab.
  • Smith had 89 yards receiving on the day, which moved him to second on the list of receiving yards for true freshmen. He has 453 yards on the year and surpassed both Garrett Wilson (432 yards) and David Boston (450) as true freshmen.
  • Smith is the first true freshman in Buckeye history to have at least one touchdown in each of the first five games of a season.
  • The Buckeye offense has gained at least 400 yards in every game this season.
  • Ohio State’s defense forced three turnovers in a game for the third time this season.
  • Davison Igbinosun collected his first career interception late in the third quarter.
  • Denzel Burke started his 40th career game, registering two tackles.
  • In all, 21 different Buckeyes recorded at least one tackle.
  • Sonny Styles led the team with seven total tackles and was tied with Caleb Downs with a team-leading 2.0 tackles for loss.
  • Jack Sawyer led the team in sacks with 1.5. Ty Hamilton and Jermaine Matthews Jr. each recorded one sack. J.T. Tuimoloau was also responsible for 0.5 sack.
  • The Buckeyes had a total of nine tackles for loss.
