PHILADELPHIA – Temple quarterback Evan Simon has been selected as one of eight players named to the Manning Award Stars of the Week Team for his impressive showing against Utah State on Saturday. The award, sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, honors the top quarterback performances each week.
Simon tallied six total touchdowns on Saturday–five passing and one rushing. He is the first Temple player to record six touchdowns in a contest since 2018, when Ryquell Armstead rushed for six touchdowns against Houston. Simon accumulated 320 all-purpose yards and did not commit a turnover in the Owls’ 45-29 win.
From the Stars of the Week team, one player will be named the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week, determined by a fan vote which will close on Wednesday at 10 a.m. ET.
