The Buckeyes won their second title, and second in three seasons, last March with a 1-0 win over WCHA rival Wisconsin. The team will play a 34-game regular season schedule, including the Women’s Ice Breaker Tournament held in Columbus and an outdoor matchup against the Badgers in the Big Ten’s Frozen Confines being played at Wrigley Field in January.

  • Captaining the Buckeyes this season are Jenna BuglioniRiley BrengmanAmanda Thiele and Makenna Webster. Buglioni, a graduate forward, will wear the “C” after serving as an assistant captain last season. Brengman, Thiele and Webster serve as alternate captains.
  • Dunne was voted the Buckeyes’ representative on the Preseason All-WCHA team. Dunne was named the league’s Rookie of the Year for 2023-24 and became the first Buckeye to earn the national rookie of the year nod.
  • The Buckeyes return three of their top five scorers from last season’s national championship team. Dunne led the team with 24 goals in her rookie season and finished the year with 42 points. Kiara Zanon tied for the team-high assists with 27 on the year. She recorded 41 points in her first season at Ohio State. Buglioni added 38 points for the team on 15 goals and 23 assists. She led the team with three shorthanded goals.
  • Thiele, who is entering her fifth season as a member of the Buckeyes’ goaltending unit, returns as the Buckeyes most veteran at the position. The Milford, Mich. native owns a .924 save percentage and a 1.57 goals-against average for her career.
