Cleveland, OH – The Cleveland Guardians today announced that CLE Inspires Week (August 25-September 1) raised over $340,000 for Cleveland Guardians Charities and its beneficiaries. The week-long celebration raised money via the 2024 Giveathon, Cleveland Guardians Golf Outing and an online auction. Since the inaugural Giveathon in 2019, the Guardians have raised over $1.5 million.
The week also featured a $100,000 grant from Cleveland Guardians Charities to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio to aid in making up for lost federal funding.
“We are extremely thankful to our fans, alumni, players, Front Office staff and community partners that contributed to such a successful CLE Inspires Week,” said Cleveland Guardians Director of Community Impact Penny Forster. “The dollars we raised will go back into our community to impact youth and continue to provide access to the beneficial life lessons learned through youth baseball and softball.”
All proceeds from CLE Inspires Week support Cleveland Guardians Charities (CGC) and its beneficiaries, which includes:
- Cleveland Guardians RBI Program – Fully funded baseball and softball teams filled with Cleveland Metropolitan School District students
- CMSD Baseball & Softball – CGC covers all costs associated with all schools that have high school baseball & softball programs
- PlayBall CLE! – A grant program offered to underserved baseball, softball and adaptive leagues across Northeast Ohio
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio – Our partnership benefits all clubs in Northeast Ohio
Additionally, the Guardians have signed up 113 members and raised $300,000 for VeloSano 11 on Saturday, September 7.
