COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew 2 have signed midfielder Ameziane Sid Mohand to an MLS NEXT Pro contract for the remainder of the 2024 season.
“We’re excited to have Ameziane join Crew 2 for the remainder of the season,” said Director of Player Development Dan Lock. “He has great experience internationally, competing in many different leagues across Algeria. We look forward to working with him and bringing out his best, as the team looks to prepare to clinch a playoff spot.”
“Ameziane is a great addition,” said Crew 2 Head Coach Kelvin Jones. “He brings versatility, technical skill, and an eagerness to learn and get better. We look forward to working with him more in our system and helping him to reach his goals in MLS NEXT Pro. We are happy to have him in Columbus and excited to see what he will produce this season.”

Mohand joins Crew 2 from Algerian club Union Sportive Medina d’Alger (USMA) of Algeria’s Ligue 1 Professionnelle, where he recorded seven goals and four assists. Prior to USMA, Mohand spent time with the Jeunesse Sportive Bordj Menaiel (JSBM) in Algeria from 2022-2023 and 2019-2020.
With JSBM at the U-21 level in 2022-2023, Mohand logged 10 appearances, seven goals and three assists, before earning a promotion to JSBM’s Team A of Algerian Ligue 2. With Team A, he scored five goals, adding three assists in ten appearances. From 2019-2020, the midfielder competed with JSBM’s U-17 team, contributing 12 goals and seven assists before the season was interrupted due to the pandemic.
Mohand spent his U-19 season in 2021-2022 with Nasr Athlétique de Hussein Dey (NAHD), where he scored six goals and added four assists over the course of the season.
The Algerian midfielder began his youth career with Jeunesse Sportive de Kabylie’s (JSK) U-15 squad from 2017-2018, where he logged 17 goals and 19 assists. He progressed to the U-17 age group with JSK the following year, producing eight goals and six assists in 10 appearances.
