Akron, Ohio – Akron Athletics is thrilled to announce the construction of a new, state-of-the-art video board on the south end and a new ribbon board on the east side of InfoCision Stadium. This exciting upgrade is scheduled for completion before Akron’s home opener against Colgate on September 14, 2024.FB Video Board Specs 2024

The new video board will more than double the surface area of the existing board and feature a 10mm LED display, providing nearly six times the pixels to significantly enhance the quality and definition of the visual display. Measuring an impressive 84 feet wide by 23 feet high, the new board will be 46 feet wider than the current one, which measures 39 feet by 23 feet. Additionally, the ribbon board on the east stands will be replaced with the same high-definition 10mm display.

“We are incredibly excited about the installation of the new video board and thankful to our loyal investors for making this project a reality,” said Charles Guthrie, Director of Athletics at the University of Akron. “This upgrade will significantly enhance the game day experience for our fans, providing them with crystal-clear visuals and dynamic content that bring the action on the field to life. It’s our commitment to ensuring that every visit to InfoCision Stadium is memorable and engaging.”

The increased size of the video board and the replacement of the ribbon boards will also provide the athletics department with additional inventory to attract sponsorships and increase revenue opportunities.

The project was awarded to UberDisplays, an industry leader with over a decade and $100 million in LED sales and management projects.

Funding for the project was provided through private donations. To invest in Akron Athletics click here.
