Pritchard made a career-high 11 saves in the season-opening win over Duke
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State junior goalkeeper Molly Pritchard led Ohio State to a 1-0 victory over No. 24 Duke in the season-opener last Thursday and for her efforts, she has been named to the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week.
Pritchard made a career-high 11 saves in the win. The shutout was the fifth of her career and the second against a ranked team.
The Atlanta, Ga., native is the first Buckeye keeper to earn Big Ten goalkeeper of the week honors since the conference began giving out the award in 2018. Devon Kerr was the last Ohio State keeper to earn any player of the week award as she was named the defensive player of the week on Oct. 3, 2017. Kerr shutout both Iowa and No. 6 Penn State that week.
Pritchard and the Buckeyes will host a pair of matches this week, as they take on Milwaukee on Thursday and Ashland on Sunday.
