The Bengals knew they drafted a potentially great offensive tackle back in April’s NFL Draft in Georgia Bulldog, Amarius Mims as their #1 pick. But on Saturday against Tampa Bay, they saw that pick pay off quickly.
The Bengals offensive line allowed zero sacks. Amarius Mims also did not allow zero quarterback pressures in the two drives he played with the first team and Joe Burrow at QB.

Cincinnati’s first-round draft pick in April, Mims joins the Bengals as a talented and physically imposing offensive line prospect … Listed at 6-8, 340 pounds, he is tied for the tallest player on the roster and is the third heaviest behind fellow tackles Trent Brown (355) and Orlando Brown Jr. (345) … He played in 29 career games with eight starts at the University of Georgia, and was part of back-to-back national title winning teams in 2021 and ’22 … Helped the Bulldogs lead the Southeastern Conference and rank seventh nationally in fewest sacks allowed per game (0.93) in 2023 … His first career start came in the 2022 College Football Playoff semifinal against Ohio State, when he blocked for an offense that totaled 533 yards to help Georgia advance to national title game.
