Cincinnati Reds News: De La Cruz and Greene are NL All-Stars

ALL-STARS: SS Elly De La Cruz and RHP Hunter Greene have been named
to the 2024 National League All-Star team.
• The Reds have multiple All-Stars for the first time since 2021 (Nick
Castellanos & Jesse Winker).
• De La Cruz will be 22 years-187 days old at the All-Star Game on 7/16,
the youngest Reds All-Star since RHP Wayne Simpson was 21 years-224
days old at the 1970 All-Star Game and the youngest position player since
C Johnny Bench was 21 years-228 days old at 1969’s game courtesy Elias.
• De La Cruz is the third-youngest 2024 All-Star (SD’s Jackson Merrill
21-088, Pit’s Paul Skenes 22-048).

Greene is the youngest Reds starting pitcher (24 years-345 days) named
to the All-Star team since RHP Mike LaCoss (23 years-48 days) in 1979.
• It is the first All-Star selection for both Greene and De La Cruz.
