OAKLAND, Calif. — A’s right-handed pitcher Mason Miller has been selected to the American League All-Star team for the 94th Major League Baseball All-Star Game presented by Mastercard on Tuesday, July 16, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. It is his first career All-Star selection.

He is the first A’s relief pitcher selected to the All-Star Game since Liam Hendriks in 2019 and just the sixth since 2010.

Miller, 25, leads Major League rookies with 14 saves and ranks tied for 16th overall. He won American League Relief Pitcher of the Month honors for March/April after recording eight saves, 28 strikeouts, four walks, seven hits allowed, and a .149 opponents batting average. He was the first A’s relief pitcher to win the award since Lou Trivino in June 2021. For the year, the A’s closer leads MLB relievers with 66 strikeouts in 37.2 innings pitched (15.77 per nine innings). Miller ranks tied for the fourth lowest opponents batting average in the majors among relievers (.143), ranks sixth in OPS (.471), and tied 10th in on-base percentage (.225). Miller has thrown 278 pitches this season of 100+ MPH, most in the majors and the most by an A’s pitcher since MLB began tracking pitch speed in 2008.

The MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard returns to Arlington for the first time since 1995 on Tuesday, July 16.
