15 Million Canadians Watched the Florida Panthers Win the Stanley Cup on Sportsnet; Game 7 Delivered the Second Most-Watched NHL Game Ever In Canada

June 25, 2024 – Sportsnet’s coverage of the Stanley Cup Final Game 7, which saw the Florida Panthers defeat the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 to capture its first championship in franchise history, delivered Sportsnet’s most-watched broadcast ever with an average minute audience of 7.55 million across Sportsnet, Citytv, and CBC. The broadcast is the second most-watched NHL game ever in Canada (*data since 2009).

 

Game 7 reached 15 million Canadians, or 39% of the population.

 

The broadcast is also the most-watched program ever on Sportsnet+, reaching 1.93 million streamers.

 

Prior to puck drop, Sportsnet’s Hockey Central pre-game show delivered an average audience of 4.1 million.

 

From April 20 to June 24, the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Sportsnet reached 25.4 million Canadians (66% of the population) and averaged 1.5 million viewers.
