Five year-end MLB awards to be announced from the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas; Weekend Events with Legends, Current Stars Highlighted by All-MLB Awards Show Thursday Night, November 14

Major League Baseball and MGM Resorts International today announced the return of All-MLB Weekend, a multi-day offseason event to honor baseball’s best, where fans can interact with baseball legends, current stars, broadcasters and industry leaders while experiencing special amenities unique to Las Vegas thanks to MGM Rewards, MGM Resorts’ loyalty program. The second annual All-MLB Weekend presented by MGM Rewards leads off with an awards show on MLB Network filmed in front of a live audience, with an exclusive pre-show reception to help recognize the top performances by players during the regular season.

The Hank Aaron Award winners, Comeback Players of the Year, Mariano Rivera & Trevor Hoffman Relievers of the Year, Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter of the Year and selections for the All-MLB First and Second Teams will all be announced live from The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan Thursday, Nov. 14 on MLB Network during the “All-MLB Team Show presented by MGM Rewards.” Fans can purchase tickets to the exclusive awards show and packages to experience All-MLB Weekend with some of baseball’s biggest names at MGMResorts.com or Ticketmaster.com. A pre-sale for MGM Rewards and Ticketmaster members will run Wednesday, June 26 at 10 a.m. PT to Thursday, June 27 at 10 p.m. PT. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, June 28 at 10 a.m. PT. Fans also have the opportunity to enjoy elevated experiences with MLB players and legends including golf at Shadow Creek, the exclusive course owned by MGM Resorts.

At the inaugural All-MLB Weekend in 2023, a live crowd joined host Roy Wood Jr. and some of Baseball’s best, including Corbin Carroll and Adley Rutschman, to celebrate the All-MLB Teams. Ronald Acuña Jr. also received the National League Hank Aaron Award in a special presentation featuring Mrs. Billye Aaron and Baseball Commissioner Robert D. Manfred, Jr., all while legends such as Baseball Hall of Famer Fred McGriff attended and participated in weekend events.

The Comeback Player of the Year Awards are officially sanctioned by Major League Baseball and have been presented annually since 2005 to one player in each League who has re-emerged on the field during the season. The winners are determined following a vote by the 30 Club beat reporters from MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball.

Balloting for the Rivera and Hoffman Awards, which debuted in the 2014 season, is conducted among a panel of six all-time great relievers in order to determine the recipients. That panel consists of Dennis Eckersley, Rollie Fingers, John Franco, Hoffman, Rivera and Billy Wagner.

Now in its 51st season, the Outstanding Designated Hitter Award was renamed by Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig in a September 2004 ceremony in Seattle in honor of the retiring Martinez. Ballots are cast by club beat writers, broadcasters and public relations departments with nominees including all players with a minimum of 100 at-bats as a designated hitter.

Fans account for 50% of the voting for the All-MLB Team, with a panel of experts handling the other 50%. Voting opens after the regular season at MLB.com. Fans and panelists vote for their choices at catcher, first base, second base, third base, shortstop, three outfielders (without regard for left/center/right) and designated hitter, along with five starting pitchers and two relief pitchers on both the first and second teams. All choices are based on the 2024 regular season, without regard for American League or National League affiliation.

MLB introduced its first-ever All-MLB Team awards in 2019 to give a more comprehensive honor that covered the full breadth of a big league regular season, complementing the All-Star Game selections that are awarded just past the season’s halfway point. There are first and second teams, and voters are asked only to consider performance during the regular season when casting their ballots. For a list of previous All-MLB Team honorees, click here.

Additional events taking place during All-MLB Weekend will be announced at a future date. Due to the exclusive nature of All-MLB Weekend, inventory is extremely limited, so fans are encouraged to call for reservations today at 855-422-9769.
