Blue Jays Acquire Fisher from LA Dodgers

The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired RHP Braydon Fisher from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for UTIL Cavan Biggio and cash considerations.

Fisher, 23, has split the 2024 season between the Dodgers’ Double-A team in Tulsa and their Triple-A squad in Oklahoma City, combining to appear in 15 games while going 2-1 with a 5.68 ERA (12 ER/19.0 IP), 15 walks, and 30 strikeouts. The League City, TX, native was selected by the Dodgers in the fourth round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft out of Clear Falls High School in League City. The 6-4, 180 lb. right-handed reliever has appeared in 134 career minor league games in Los Angeles’ system, posting a 4.53 ERA with an 11.57 strikeout per nine rate.

Biggio, 29, appeared in 44 games for the Blue Jays in 2024, batting .200 with six extra-base hits and nine RBI. The Houston, TX, native was selected by the Blue Jays in the fifth round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, eventually making his big-league debut for the club in 2019 where he finished fifth in AL Rookie of the Year voting. Biggio has spent the entirety of his MLB career in Toronto, suiting up for 490 games for the club while hitting .227 with 77 doubles, four triples, 48 home runs, and 176 RBI.
