CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s game at Seattle, the Chicago White Sox announced the following four roster moves:
- Returned from Rehabilitation Assignment with Arizona Complex League White Sox and Reinstated from 10-Day Injured List (1): OF Andrew Benintendi;
- Returned from Rehabilitation Assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and Reinstated from 15-Day Injured List (1): RHP Steven Wilson;
- Optioned to Charlotte (1): OF Duke Ellis;
- Designated for Assignment (1): LHP Tim Hill.
Benintendi, who appeared in two rehab games with the ACL White Sox, has been on the injured list since June 2 with left achilles tendinitis. He is hitting .195 (37-190) with five doubles, four home runs and 18 RBI in 51 games with Chicago this season.
Wilson, who made two appearances with Charlotte, has been on the injured list since May 20 with a back strain. He is 1-2 with a 2.84 ERA (6 ER/19.0 IP), .154 (10-65) opponents average, six holds and 19 strikeouts in 21 relief outings with the White Sox in 2024.
Ellis is 0-4 with a run scored and four stolen bases in his first eight major-league games with the Sox. He hit .258 (31-120) with one homer, 12 RBI, 24 runs scored and 34 steals (35 attempts) in 39 games with Class AA Birmingham.
Hill is 1-0 with a 5.87 ERA (15 ER/23.0 IP), one hold and 13 strikeouts in 22 relief appearances this season, his first with Chicago.
Following the moves, the White Sox 40-man roster decreases to 39.
