A baseball lifer, Goryl spent time as a player, manager, and coach in several organizations. He joined Cleveland in 1982 and has enjoyed a variety of roles in the organization. Buynak got his start in Cleveland in 1962 and his career in both the home clubhouse and visiting clubhouse ran through 2006, a remarkable 45 years.
“To be able to honor two baseball lifers, Johnny Goryl and Cy Buynak, into the Guardians Distinguished Hall of Fame is truly special,” said SVP of Public Affairs Bob DiBiasio. “Whether it was out on the field or in clubhouse, each gentleman in their own professional way impacted hundreds of players and staff throughout their careers.”
