NEW YORK (May 11, 2024) – The National Hockey League today issued the following statement regarding the passing of former forward Ron Ellis:

“The NHL mourns the passing of Ron Ellis, a life-long Toronto Maple Leaf and 1967 Stanley Cup winner who represented Team Canada at the 1972 Summit Series and was an executive at the Hockey Hall of Fame. Our thoughts are with his family and countless fans and friends in hockey.”
