Texas Rangers News: recall RHP Grant Anderson from Triple-A Round Rock

Anderson recalled as corresponding move after club placed RHP Josh Sborz on injured list Thursday

Denver, Colo. — The Texas Rangers today announced that the club has recalled right-handed pitcher Grant Anderson from Round Rock (AAA) ahead of the Rangers’ series opener tonight against the Rockies at Coors Field.

Anderson, 26, has gone 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA (2 ER/8.2 IP) in 8 relief appearances for Round Rock, last pitching on Tuesday (1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 SO, 34 pitches) in the Express’ 6-4 win over Las Vegas.

The right-hander has posted no record, a 12.00 ERA (4 ER/3.0 IP), 5 strikeouts, and no walks across 4 relief appearances spanning two prior stints with Texas this season: April 7-17, April 24. The Port Arthur, Tex. native is 2-1 with a 5.59 ERA (24 ER/38.2 IP) with 35 strikeouts to 14 walks in 30 career Major League games (all in relief) for Texas from 2023-24.

With today’s transaction, Texas remains at the 40-man limit on the club’s Major League roster, along with six players on the 60-day Injured List: Brock Burke, Carson Coleman, Jacob deGrom, Justin Foscue, Josh Jung, and Tyler Mahle.

Ingram claimed by St. Louis: LHP Kolton Ingram was acquired today by the St. Louis Cardinals on a waiver claim. Ingram, 27, was designated for assignment by Texas on Wednesday.
