Black & Gold prepare for first Concacaf Champions Cup Final

COLUMBUS – The Columbus Crew announced today schedule changes for two MLS regular season matches after the Club earned its first berth in the Concacaf Champions Cup Final. The Crew will host the New England Revolution on Saturday, Oct. 12 and the Seattle Sounders on Saturday, Sept. 7. Both matches will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Black & Gold’s matches against New England and Seattle were originally slated for Wednesday, May 29 and Saturday, June 1, respectively. All tickets purchased to the contests remain valid and will automatically be transferred to reflect the new dates.

The Crew face Liga MX side CF Pachuca in the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup Final on Saturday, June 1 at 9:15 p.m. ET at Estadio Hidalgo in Pachuca, Mexico.

The Final will crown the Confederation’s new club champion and culminate a revamped 59th edition of the Concacaf Champions Cup. For the first time in its history, the competition included 27 of the best clubs from North America, Central America and the Caribbean and was played across five rounds.

The Crew earned a 3-1 win against CF Monterrey on May 1 in Leg 2 of the Semifinals at Estadio BBVA in Guadalupe, Nuevo León, Mexico. After reaching the Semifinals for the first time in Club history, the Crew advanced to the tournament’s Final for the first time with an aggregate score of 5-2. The Black & Gold look to become only the second MLS team to win the tournament (Seattle Sounders, 2022) and secure a spot in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Columbus becomes only the second MLS side to advance to the Final after defeating a LIGA MX club in the Semifinals since 2008-2009.
