Nearing the end of its inaugural season, Pro Volleyball Federation has already solidified a key component for its second campaign, announcing an extension with Bolt6, a sports technology leader that delivers services in tracking and video replay. The extension, a 5-year agreement, confirms Pro Volleyball Federation as the exclusive and only league that will be able to utilize this cutting-edge technology in the United States.

“Our Board of Directors continues to show its unwavering commitment to our sport and our league,” said Pro Volleyball Federation CEO Jen Spicher. “We knew the Bolt6 technology would be a game changer when we signed with them before this season and they haven’t disappointed. We’re thrilled to be the only league using their services for years to come.”

Through the end of April, the technology continued its strong performance. Pro Volleyball Federation has had nearly 300 challenges – with all of them having a confirmed outcome. The challenges lasted an average of under 30 seconds. In addition, close to 1000 close line calls during the first season have been made with an average latency of under 400 milliseconds. Teams and fans that follow Pro Volleyball Federation have enjoyed the fastest replay and tracking technology on the planet in 2024.

Bolt6 is providing the League with video replay officiating that utilizes a total of 12 cameras placed around the court. While the video is made available to anyone with a device and internet connection, Pro Volleyball Federation is using a centralized replay center – a world first for volleyball. Bolt6 also provides the output of the decision to broadcast, in-stadium displays, and first referee.

The system uses an additional 10 cameras at 4K resolution in the stands around the court for ball  and player tracking, providing live in and out calls. Calls are made live with the decision being sent to a tablet on the first referee’s chair and the remote center. All balls that bounce within 12 inches of a line are displayed for officials, players and fans through Bolt6’s virtual replays.
