Minnesota Twins get Carlos Correa back from Injured List

Austin Martin optioned to Triple-A St. Paul

 

CHICAGO, IL – The Minnesota Twins announced that they have reinstated shortstop Carlos Correa from the 10-day Injured List.

Correa, who has missed the last 16 games with a right intercostal strain, played in 11 games before landing on the Injured List, hitting .306 (11-for-36) with two doubles, one home run, four RBI, eight walks, a .432 on-base percentage and an .876 OPS.

To make room for Correa on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned utility player Austin Martin to Triple-A St. Paul. Martin played in 22 games for the Twins this season, hitting .226 (14-for-62) with six doubles, one home run, six RBI, 16 runs scored, six walks and two stolen bases.
