Fairfield will play Little Rock in the first round on Sunday, March 24

PRINCETON, N.J. – Fairfield University Men’s Basketball has accepted an invitation to continue the 2023-24 campaign at the Ro College Basketball Invitational. The Stags will play Little Rock in the CBI First Round next Sunday, March 24 at 3:30 p.m. All games in the 15-team tournament will take place at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Following this weekend’s run to the MAAC Championship Game, the Stags will enter the CBI with a record of 22-12.
The Stags are seeded seventh in the field, while Little Rock has been tabbed with the 10th seed. The Trojans are currently 21-12 after bowing out in the Ohio Valley Conference Championship Game to Morehead State last Saturday. Little Rock is led by OVC Coach of the Year Darrell Walker and features three All-OVC players as well as 2024 OVC Rookie of the Year Jaylen Crocker-Johnson. It will be the first meeting between the Stags and Trojans.
This year’s CBI will run from March 23-27 in Daytona Beach. With a win over Little Rock, the Stags would advance to play either UC San Diego or Chicago State in the quarterfinals. The semifinal round could feature a possible third meeting with in-state MAAC foe Quinnipiac.
The First Round and Quarterfinals of the CBI will be broadcast live on FloHoops, with the Semifinals and Finals to air on ESPN2.
