BLUE JACKETS TEAM NOTES
- The Blue Jackets fell to 3-4-0 in the past seven games following tonight’s loss to the Hurricanes.
- The winning team in the series has scored four-plus goals in eight of the past nine meetings dating back to Oct. 23, 2022.
- With D Zach Werenski’s assist tonight, CBJ blueliners have now recorded 11-29-40 in the last 20 games and 24-106-130 in 59 games this season.
- The Blue Jackets blocked 22 shots tonight and have now been credited with 827 blocked shots over the past 48 games dating back to Nov. 6 and have registered 1,036 blocked shots this season.
- Columbus recorded 22 shots on goal tonight and has now registered 296 shots on goal over the last nine contests (32.9 avg.).
- The Jackets completed their ninth of 13 back-to-back sets of the campaign, failing to record points in either game for just the second time this season (Nov. 18 at WSH/Nov. 19 at PHI).
- CBJ played their 11th of 16 Thursday games this season.
- Tonight’s attendance was a sellout crowd of 18,390, marking the 11th sellout in the past 13 games at Nationwide Arena dating back to December 16.
BLUE JACKETS PLAYER NOTES
- LW Alexander Nylander notched his first point (assist) and goal as a Blue Jacket and of the season (overall, 1-1-2 in eight GP). It was his his ninth career multi-point game (MR: 1-1-2 with CHI on Mar. 11, 2020 vs. SJS).
- C Cole Sillinger scored a goal in his second consecutive game (2-0-2) and now has 10-12-22 in 54 appearances this season. With 29-35-64 in 197 career games, he moved into a tie with Dan Fritsche for the second-most goals scored among Ohio-born players playing for Columbus. The only player with more is Jack Roslovic (49).
- D Zach Werenski registered an assist to give him points in six of his past 10 contests (3-4-7) and eight of his past 13 (3-6-9). With 4-30-34 in 47 appearances this season, he has recorded his fourth career 30-assist campaign (MR: career-high 37 in 2021-22). He improved to 4-5-9 in 25 career games vs. the Hurricanes, including points in three of his past four home contests against the club (2-1-3).
- C Jack Roslovic recorded an assist and has now collected assists in five of his last seven games (1-6-7) and points in six of the past eight contests (2-6-8; overall, 4-14-18 in 36 GP).
- C Boone Jenner tallied an assist, giving him 5-4-9 in the last nine outings and 18-9-27 in 44 games this season. He improved to 7-11-18 in 39 career contests vs. Carolina, including points in three of his last four home games against the club (1-2-3).
