BLUE JACKETS TEAM NOTES

  • The Blue Jackets fell to 2-2-0 in the past four games following tonight’s loss to the Sabres.
  • CBJ failed to record a point for just the third time in the last 13 games in the series vs. Buffalo since Mar. 31, 2019 (7-3-3).  The club has now recorded points in 16 of the past 22 dating back to Apr. 8, 2016 (13-6-3).
  • With D Ivan Provorov’s assist tonight, CBJ blueliners have now recorded 10-26-36 in the last 17 games and 23-103-126 in 56 games this season.
  • With F Dmitri Voronkov’s goal tonight, CBJ rookies have now combined for 28-36-64 in 56 games this season.
  • The Blue Jackets blocked 12 shots tonight and have now been credited with 760 blocked shots over the past 45 games dating back to Nov. 6 and have registered 969 blocked shots this season.
  • CBJ have been held to less than two goals in just nine of their past 45 contests since Nov. 6.
  • The Blue Jackets have scored the first goal of the game in 20 of the past 37 contests.
  • Columbus has played in 24 one-goal games this season (8-6-10).
  • The Blue Jackets scored one first period goal tonight and have now scored 55 first period goals this season.

  • Tonight’s attendance was a season-high sellout crowd of 18,943, marking the ninth sellout in the past 11 games at Nationwide Arena dating back to December 16.

 

BLUE JACKETS PLAYER NOTES­

  • LW Dmitri Voronkov scored the Blue Jackets lone goal of the game and has now posted goals in three of the past five games (3-0-3) and has recorded 8-0-8 in the last 13 contests (overall, 15-13-28 in 50 GP).
  • RW Kirill Marchenko registered an assist to give him 1-3-4 in the past six games and 12-8-20 in his last 37 appearances (overall, 16-13-29 in 54 GP).
  • Ivan Provorov tallied an assist, giving him 0-2-2 in his past four games and 4-21-25 in 56 outings this season. He improved to 5-12-17 in 28 career games vs. Buffalo, including 2-9-11 in his last 14 appearances against the club overall and 0-4-4 in his last six home outings.
  • Adam Boqvist skated in his 200th career NHL game (23-60-83).
  • Daniil Tarasov has allowed two goals in each of the last two games, stopping 62-of-66 shots faced (.939).
