COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 5/5 Ohio State women’s basketball team (20-3, 11-1 B1G) travels to RV/RV Michigan State (17-6, 7-5 B1G) on Sunday for a 4 p.m. tip. The game will be broadcast on Peacock and AM1460.

  • Ohio State earned its 20th win of the season with a 71-47 victory at Minnesota on Thursday night as the Buckeyes are now 20-3 overall and 11-1 in conference play. The Buckeyes used a 26-7 third quarter to create the separation needed.
  • The Buckeyes’ scoring was a balanced effort as the team combined for 23 assists. The OSU defense forced 23 turnovers and had 12 steals. Celeste Taylor (14) led four double-figure scorers with the others being Cotie McMahon (13), Jacy Sheldon (12) and Rebeka Mikulášiková (10).
  • RV/RV Michigan State enters the weekend with 17-6 overall record and a 7-5 Big Ten record after coming up just short at No. 14/13 Indiana (91-94) on Thursday.
  • After last playing the Buckeyes, the Spartans are 5-2, earning wins against Northwestern, Purdue, Michigan, Rutgers and Minnesota and falling to the Hoosiers and Gophers.
  • Julia Ayrault leads one of the highest scoring Big Ten offenses (86.2 ppg) with 15.3 ppg herself. Moira Joiner (15.1), DeeDee Hagemann (13.1) and Theryn Hallock (10.7) are also averaging double figures. Ayrault also leads the Spartans on the boards (7.3 rpg).
  • Ohio State leads 58-29 in the all-time series against Michigan State and has the 21-14 edge when facing the Spartans in East Lansing.
  • This is the teams’ second meeting of the season as Ohio State earned a 70-65 win at home on Jan. 14. The Buckeyes were down three at halftime and tied the score going into the fourth quarter. OSU scored the first eight points of the fourth quarter and held off a late MSU push.
  • Ohio State had five players score in double figures, led by Jacy Sheldon’s 18 points. Taylor Thiery recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Cotie McMahon (11), Rikki Harris (11) and Rebeka Mikulášiková (10) also scored in double figures.
