INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After a 2-0 week and new career-high, Blake Lampman earned his first Under Armour #HLMBB Player of the Week honors of his career.
The Haslett, Mich., native was the top producer for the Golden Grizzlies en route to a 2-0 week to place Oakland first in the Horizon League standings. On the week, Lampman finished with 52 points as he grabbed 26 points in back-to-back games. His 26 points ties a career-high he set earlier this season. The graduate student shot 17-of-32 (.531) from the field while going 12-of-24 (.500) from deep. He was a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe and tallied seven rebounds.
In Thursday’s win over Robert Morris (87-72), Lampman scored the team’s first 12 points and shot 4-of-4 from three, 4:27 into the game. Lampman wrapped up the first half with 20 points as he eventually finished with a game-high 26 to tie his career-high. On the night, Lampman set a new career-high in three pointers made with eight along with field goals made with nine.
In Saturday’s key win over Cleveland State (83-71), Lampman once again tied his career-high in points with a game-high of 26 as he went 8-of-18 from the floor with four makes from range. He brought down five rebounds with three assists and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the line, a new season-high, to help Oakland go 23-of-23 from the free throw line. The 23-of-23 from the line marks the most free throws made in a game without a miss for the Golden Grizzlies.
Lampman, who ranks second on the team in scoring average (14.2 points per game), rose into the top-5 in the Golden Grizzlies record book in three-pointers made with a grand total of 254. Overall from range, Lampman is 61-of-155 (.394) on the season and 46-of-111 (.414) against conference opponents. In Horizon League play, he ranks second in three-point field goal percentage and first in three-pointers made per game (4.2). Although it’s his first time being named Player of the Week, Lampman was named #HLMBB Freshman of the week on two occasions back in the 2019-20 season (Dec. 31 & Jan. 13).
