Northern Kentucky star Marques Warrick a recent #HLMBB Player of the Week for second time. January 22, 2024

INDIANAPOLIS – After leading the Northern Kentucky men’s basketball program to a perfect 2-0 mark in conference play, standout guard Marques Warrick was named the Under Armour Horizon League Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.

Warrick had another huge week as NKU collected wins over Milwaukee and Green Bay to keep the Norse near the top of the Horizon standings. He started the slate with 21 points, four assists, three steals, one rebound and one block in a 90-72 win over Milwaukee and followed it up with another 21-point game that included three helpers and three boards in a 74-52 victory against then Horizon League leading Green Bay.

Over the two games, Warrick averaged 21 points, 3.5 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals for the week. It was the second #HLMBB Player of the Week honor of the season for the Lexington, Kentucky native.

Warrick is now tied for the Horizon League lead with an average of 19.2 points per contest. He slots in at first in the conference in made free throws (91), second in total points (383), tied for fifth in both made field goals (125) and made three-pointers (44) and tied for 17th in assists per game (2.4).

On the national level, Warrick is tied for 16th in all of NCAA Division I basketball in points scored and is 45th in points per game. He is also tied for 32nd in made free throws, 47th in made field goals and tied for 111th in made threes.

He is in sole possession of second place on the all-time in scoring in school history. and 60 points from taking over the program record from NKU great Drew McDonald.
