ROSEMONT, Ill. – For the second time this season, Northwestern guard Boo Buie has been named Big Ten Conference Player of the Week after leading the Wildcats to wins over No. 10 Illinois and Ohio State.

Buie led the Big Ten by averaging 24.0 points per game for the week and ranked second posting 6.0 assists per game. The graduate from Albany, N.Y. claimed his fourth career Big Ten Player of the Week Award, ranking third for the most by a Northwestern student-athlete behind Drew Crawford (5) and John Shurna (5). Buie is the first Wildcat to win the award twice in the same season since Crawford in 2011-12.

He scored 29 points and contributed seven assists and three steals in the Wildcats 96-91 overtime win against No. 10 Illinois. He hit the game-tying shot to force overtime with 23 seconds left in the second half. Buie tied his career-high with 12 made field goals and went 3-for-5 from 3-point range.

Buie posted a team-high 19 points while adding five assists and five rebounds in Northwestern’s 83-58 win over Ohio State. He scored 15 of his total points in 13 minutes played in the second half.
