EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern guard Boo Buie has been named one of the top 10 candidates for the 2024 Bob Cousy Award, The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced on Monday. Named after Class of 1971 Hall of Famer and former Boston Celtic and Holy Cross guard Bob Cousy, the annual honor, now in its 21st year, recognizes the top point guard in Division I men’s college basketball.

Last season, Buie was one of five finalists for the award. Buie is one of just two Cousy Award Finalists from last season on this year’s watch list (Tyler Kolek, Marquette).

Buie is the only high-major player in the country averaging 18+ points (18.5) and 5+ assists (5.3) per game this season. In four games against ranked opponents this season, Buie is averaging 25.5 points, 4.5 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. He is also averaging 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game this year.

The Albany, N.Y. native ranks third in Northwestern history in career scoring with 1,911 career points. Buie is 11 points shy of Drew Crawford (2010-14) for second place all-time in Wildcat history, and trails John Shurna (2009-12) by 127 points for the all-time record.
