Blues to Watch

  • LW Pavel Buchnevich ranks second on the club in goals (tied) and points with 17-22-39 in 46 contests and has registered 7-8-15 in 18 career games against the Blue Jackets.
  • Torey Krug leads Blues defensemen in assists and points with 1-19-20 in 48 appearances and has collected 3-13-16 in 24 career games against CBJ.
  • Robert Thomas, who has collected assists in five consecutive games (1-7-8), leads St. Louis in goals (tied), assists and points with 17-35-52 in 48 outings in 2023-24.

BLUE JACKETS TEAM NOTES

  • The Blue Jackets complete a five-game road trip and last game before the NHL All-Star Break at St. Louis on Tuesday.  The club is 1-2-1 on the trip after a 4-1 loss at Edmonton on Jan. 23, 5-2 win at Calgary on Jan. 25, 5-4 overtime loss at Vancouver on Saturday and 4-2 loss at Seattle on Sunday.
  • Following Tuesday’s game at St. Louis, the Blue Jackets will be off for All-Star Weekend and the NHL midseason break, returning to action 11 days later on Feb. 10 vs. Tampa Bay at Nationwide Arena.
  • Columbus is currently in a stretch of nine of 10 games on the road over a month’s span from Jan. 23-Feb. 21.  It includes the team’s first of two five-game road trips of the campaign from Jan. 23-30 (also Mar. 19-28).
  • After scoring one goal to begin the road trip, the club has recorded 11 goals over the last three contests (3.67 goals/game).  The club has scored at least two goals in 32 of the last 38 games played dating back to Nov. 6.
  • The Blue Jackets have played in 21 one-goal games this season with the 21 one-goal games tied for the ninth-most in the NHL.
  • Columbus has played past regulation eight times (3-5) over the last 16 games.  CBJ have had 15 of their games decided after regulation this season, tied for the fourth-most in the NHL.

BLUE JACKETS PLAYER NOTES

  • RW Yegor Chinakhov has collected points in three-straight contests (3-2-5) after notching his second multi-goal game of the campaign with both CBJ goals on Sunday.  He has picked up points in five of the last six games (4-3-7) and has totaled 12-7-19 over the last 21 contests.
  • Adam Fantilli has collected 4-7-11 in the past 18 contests. The 2023 third overall pick ranks third among NHL rookies in goals, fourth in points and sixth-T in assists with 12-15-27 in 49 appearances this season.
  • LW Johnny Gaudreau has collected assists in two-straight games (0-2-2) and five of his past seven games (0-6-6) after registering an assist on Sunday (7-24-31, 49 GP).  He has recorded 3-13-16 in the last 19 games and 6-19-25 with six multi-point outings in his last 32 contests after collecting 1-5-6 in the first 17 games of the season.
  • RW Kirill Marchenko, scored his team-leading 15th goal of the season on Saturday.  He has recorded 15-10-25 in 47 contests this season and has already set single-season career highs in assists and points after posting 21-4-24 in 59 contests during his 2022-23 rookie campaign.
  • Ivan Provorov ranks second on the club in blocked shots and time on ice and third in assists with 4-19-23 and 93 blocked shots, while averaging 22:41 TOI in 49 appearances this season.
  • Damon Severson has registered assists in three consecutive outings (1-3-4) after collecting an assist on Sunday.  He has posted 5-6-11 over his last 18 outings, including notching his third multi-point effort of the campaign on Thursday at Calgary (1-1-2).  He leads club defensemen in goals with 6-10-16 in 34 appearances this season.
  • Cole Sillinger has notched 7-3-10 with two multi-point efforts over the past 17 contests.
  • Alexandre Texier notched shorthanded goals in two-straight games at Calgary (Jan. 25) and Vancouver (Jan. 27) to become the fourth player in Blue Jackets history to score shorthanded goals in back-to-back games on Jan. 25 at Calgary and Jan. 27 at Vancouver, joining Cam Atkinson (2020-21), R.J. Umberger (2010-11) and Rick Nash (2009-10, 2008-09).
  • LW Dmitri Voronkov has notched a goal in three of the past six contests (4-0-4).  He ranks fourth among NHL rookies in goals, seventh in points and eighth-T in assists with 11-13-24 in 43 games this season.
  • Zach Werenski has registered assists in two of the past three games (0-2-2).  He ranks seventh-T among NHL blueliners in assists-per-game (.70) as well as leads the team in assists and TOI and ranks second-T in points with 1-26-27 on 24:17 TOI in 37 contests this season.
