Sunday’s hero in upset win over #2 Iowa, Cotie McMahon Named Big Ten Player of the Week

Cotie McMahon averaged 23.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in the Buckeyes’ wins against No. 2 Iowa and -/RV Maryland.

 

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday. Sophomore forward Cotie McMahon was named Big Ten Player of the Week for the first time in her career. She was named to the Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll on Dec. 11.

McMahon led the Buckeyes to wins at -/RV Maryland and against No. 2/2 Iowa last week, averaging 23.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in the two victories. McMahon scored a career-high 33 points and added a season-high 12 rebounds for her first double-double of the season in Sunday’s win against the No. 2 Hawkeyes in front of a record crowd. Against Maryland, McMahon had 14 points and a then season-high nine rebounds, adding three assists. This season, McMahon is averaging 13.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
