ANN ARBOR, Mich. — In an afternoon game to help celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the University of Michigan basketball team (6-10, 1-4 Big Ten) hosts Ohio State (12-4, 2-3 Big Ten) on Monday (Jan. 15) at Crisler Center. Tipoff is scheduled for noon and will be broadcast live on Fox.

Notes

• Michigan hosts Ohio State for the first of two regular-season meetings. The Wolverines will play a return game, heading to Columbus on Sunday, March 3 to wrap up the home-and-home series.

• U-M, which is 82-107 in the all-time series against OSU, has won the last two meetings. In Ann Arbor, the Maize and Blue has won three of the last five and carries a 50-40 record.

• Michigan will don a special game day shooting shirt in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The special game day celebration was started in the 2017-18 season with U-M carrying a 5-1 record in those contests.

• Olivier Nkamhoua surpassed 1,000 career points at Maryland (Jan. 11). The feat adds to his milestones met in his graduate season. He surpassed 125 career games (128) and reached the 500-rebound plateau (549).

• This season, Nkamhoua has produced 15 games of double-figure scoring with five-plus rebounds, including a run of 10 straight. Overall, he averages 16.9 points and a team-best 7.6 rebounds — both career-best paces.

• Terrance Williams II, who averages 12.6 points per game, has two 20-plus point games in his last four, including a career-best 24 at Penn State (Jan. 7). Overall, he has 13 double-figure scoring games, surpassing the 10 total he had compiled during his first three seasons.

• Over his last seven games, Williams has made more than half (18) of his season total of three-pointers (35), with six games of three-plus. In his three prior seasons, he had recorded 38 total long-range buckets.

• Jaelin Llewellyn made his return to the starting lineup at Maryland (Jan. 11) with Dug McDaniel unable to travel due to his team suspension. In his most significant action in more than a year, Llewellyn had nine points, four rebounds, three assists in 33 minutes against the Terps.

• Will Tschetter, who averages 7.6 points per game, continues to shoot above 60 percent from long range (61.5 percent; 16-for-26). He has made a three-pointer in 12 games, with a career-best four against Youngstown State (Nov. 10). Overall, he is shooting 65.7 percent from the field.

• Over the last seven games, Michigan is 120-for-156 (76.9 percent) from the free-throw line which has lifted U-M to a season percentage of 70.9. Prior to this stretch, U-M was shooting 65.3 percent (94-for-144) through nine games.

• Over his last seven games, Tarris Reed Jr. has gone 19-for-26 (73.1 percent) at the free-throw line. In his first nine games, he went 9-for-25 (36 percent). The improvement has lifted his overall percentage to 54.9 (28-for-51).
