Ohio State Overview
• Lathan is in his fourth season with the program and has two seasons of eligibility, including another from the 2020 pandemic season
• He is an OSU Scholar-Athlete majoring in communications
• Is coming off a fine 2022 campaign when he played in 12 of the 13 games, started nine games and was a semifinalist for the Thorpe Award
• Ranked third on the team in tackles in 2022 with 74 and earned honorable mention all-Big Ten Conference honors by both the coaches and voting media
• 2022 stats also included 3.5 tackles-for-loss (-22 yards), an interception (vs. Michigan State), three pass break-ups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery
• A valuable special teams performer with two blocked punts on the year: vs. Indiana and Maryland
• Recorded a career high 11 tackles (eight solos) vs. Rutgers and had 10 tackles vs. Indiana and eight vs. both Northwestern and Georgia
• Is now a veteran of 32 games, including playing in all 13 games in 2021 and started three games (vs. Minnesota, Oregon and Tulsa)
• Was third among the defensive backs in 2021 with 38 total tackles, including a quarterback sack, plus had five pass break-ups
• Had eight tackles vs. Tulsa, six vs. Purdue and five vs. Michigan
• Missed the 2022 spring drills while recovering from an injury during the Rose Bowl game
• Saw increased playing time throughout the 2020 season, played in seven games and had five of his six tackles in the final three games
• Finished with two tackles and one pass defended in a 22-10 win over Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship Game
