#7 Buckeyes fall flat in 14-3 Cotton Bowl loss to #9 Missouri; Ryan Day answers hard media questions

COLUMBUS, Ohio — No. 7 Ohio State (11-2) fell 14-3 to No. 9 Missouri (11-2) in the 88th edition of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Friday.

The Buckeyes scored first with a first-quarter field goal but the Tigers rallied for a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter to earn the win.

It was a battle of the defenses for three quarters before Missouri was able to break through late.

Lincoln Kienholz played most of the game at quarterback after starter Devin Brown left the game in the first quarter with a lower body injury.

Ohio State’s signal callers combined to complete 10-of-24 passes for 106 yards. TreVeyon Henderson led the running game with 72 yards on 19 carries.

Emeka Egbuka caught six passes for 63 yards to lead the receiving corps.

Defensively, linebacker Cody Simon had 12 tackles, including six solo stops.
