DAYTON – Hilltopper Basketball continues its road campaign with a matchup against Wright State on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. CT. The Hilltoppers currently stand at 7-3 coming off a strong win over Buffalo on Sunday that saw 14 Hilltoppers chart in the scoring column.

The 2023-24 Campaign
WKU improved to 7-3 after defeating Buffalo on the road on Sunday. The Hilltopper bench combined for 33 points in the 82-65 win over the Bulls.

The Tops entered the game and jumped out to a 20-6 lead at the 12:34 mark in the first period. WKU led by as many as 25 points, up 41-16 with three minutes to play before the half.

Don McHenry led the team in scoring with 16 points off 5-of-7 shooting from the field. The junior from Milwaukee added two rebounds, two assists and a steal to round out the performance in Buffalo.

Brandon Newman finished the game leading in rebounds with eight, while charting 11 points, three assists, a pair of steals and a block. The Purdue transfer is currently tied for first on the team in rebounds with 63 on the season, and is averaging a team-high in minutes per game (25.1).

Series History vs. Wright State 
Tuesday will mark Hilltopper Basketball’s third all-time meeting with Wright State. WKU’s previous two outings facing the Raiders came on Dec. 3, 2019 in a 74-76 loss, and Dec. 2, 2017 as the Tops defeated the foe, 78-60.
