BLUE JACKETS TEAM NOTES

  • The Blue Jackets improved to 5-4-1 in the last 10 games overall and 4-1-1 in the last six games at Nationwide Arena following tonight’s victory over the Blues.
  • CBJ have recorded points in eight of the last 11 games in the series vs. St. Louis at Nationwide Arena (7-3-1) dating back to Apr. 12, 2013.
  • The winning team in the series has scored five-plus goals in each of the last five games and four-plus goals in eight of the last nine.
  • CBJ went 1-for-2 on the power play tonight and have now recorded a power play goal in four-straight homes games vs. St. Louis (4-of-12; 33.3 pct.).  The club has also recorded a power play goal in seven of the last nine meetings overall since Oct. 25, 2018 (8-of-24; 33.3 pct.).
  • The Blue Jackets are five-of-16 on the man advantage over the last seven contests of the season (31.3 pct.).
  • The club killed off all three of the Blues’ power play opportunities tonight and has now killed off 52-of-58 opponent power play chances since Oct. 28 (89.7 pct.). CBJ lead the league in penalty kill percentage since Oct. 20, killing off 64-of-72 opponent power play opportunities over the last 26 games (88.9 pct.).
  • Columbus blocked 17 shots tonight and has been credited with 328 blocked shots over the past 18 contests and 538 in 29 games this season.
  • CBJ rookies collected 1-2-3 tonight and have now posted 14-21-35 in 29 games this season.
  • The Blue Jackets scored two goals in the first period tonight and now have 31 first period goals this season.
  • CBJ scored the first goal tonight and have now scored the first goal of the game in eight of the past 10 games and 11 of the past 15.
  • The club concluded its fifth of 13 back-to-back sets this season and has now recorded points in four of its five second games of the back-to-back (3-1-1).
  • CBJ played their fourth of eight Friday games, improving to 4-0-0 on the day.

 

BLUE JACKETS PLAYER NOTES­

  • RW Yegor Chinakhov notched his first multi-goal and second multi-point game of the season with two goals and one assist to give him 4-2-6 in his last seven appearances (overall, 5-3-8 in 18 GP).  It’s his first career three-point effort and second career two-goal game (previously, Jan. 13, 2022 at Carolina).
  • Adam Fantilli scored a goal in his second consecutive game to extend his point streak to three-straight games (3-2-5).  It is his second time recording points in three consecutive outings, previously collecting 2-1-3 from Nov. 9-Nov. 12.  The rookie has registered 8-8-16 with two multi-point efforts in 29 games this season.
  • RW Kirill Marchenko registered his third multi-point effort of the campaign and ninth of his career with one goal and one assist and has now recorded goals in five of his last ten games (5-2-7; overall, 9-7-16 in 27 GP).  He scored his 30th NHL goal tonight (30-11-41 in 86 GP) and required the fewest games in Blue Jackets history to reach the mark, besting the previous benchmark of 96 contests set by Rick Nash.
  • LW Dmitri Voronkov notched his first career NHL multi-point and multi-assist game with 0-2-2 and has now collected 2-3-5 in his past seven outings.  He has points in 13 of his first 23 NHL games (5-9-14).
  • RW Emil Bemstrom recorded an assist, giving him points in two-straight outings (1-2-3; overall, 4-3-7 in 14 GP). He improved to 1-3-4 in five career games vs. the Blues, including points in three of his four career home contests (1-3-4).
  • Kent Johnson tallied an assist to give him helpers in two-straight games (0-3-3; overall, 1-5-6 in 13 GP).
  • Alexandre Texier scored an empty net goal in the third period to give him 5-3-8 in 27 games this season.
  • RW Justin Danforth recorded an assist, giving him 1-3-4 in his last nine contests (overall, 6-6-12 in 29 GP).
  • Jet Greaves notched his first career NHL win in his season debut with the Blue Jackets tonight, stopping 41-of-43 shots faced.
