Wright State News: This Week in Wright State Athletics: December 4 – December 10

Both basketball programs will host non-conference home games inside the Nutter Center this week. Catch up and take a look at the week ahead.

MEN’S BASKETBALL | WOMEN’S BASKETBALL | TRACK & FIELD

Men’s Basketball 
The Wright State men’s basketball team welcomes Bethel to the Nutter Center on Thursday at 7 p.m. The team’s lone game of the week can be streamed on ESPN+ or listened to by tuning in to the new home for Raider Basketball 101.5 HANK FM and WING 1410 AM.

Last week, the Raiders opened Horizon League play with a 103-74 win over IUPUI at home before falling to Davidson on the road. Tanner Holden averaged a team-leading 20.0 points on 66.7 percent shooting in the stretch, highlighted by 26 points, six rebounds, and four steals against the Jaguars.

Women’s Basketball
The Raider women’s basketball program returns to non-conference play with a home meeting versus Eastern Illinois on Saturday afternoon. The game will tip at 4 p.m. and broadcast live on ESPN+ with Scott Leo and Justin Kinner on the call.

Wright State went 2-1 last week, defeating Marshall (89-78) and IUPUI (79-67) at home while falling to Purdue Fort Wayne (60-71) on the road. Alexis Hutchison stood out by averaging 18.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.0 steals over the three games.

Track & Field
The Wright State track and field program started its indoor season last Saturday at the Tiger Opener, tallying 13 top-five marks and three runner-up finishes. The Raiders will return to action at the Marshall Opener on January 13.
