Ohio State Football News: Big Ten Honors for Harrison Jr. is Offensive Player of the Week, Proctor is the Defensive Player of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – An Ohio State Buckeye on each side of the ball garnered Big Ten weekly honors on Monday. Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was chosen as the league’s Offensive Player of the Week while safety Josh Proctor earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Harrison Jr. caught a season-high eight passes for 163 yards and a touchdown in the Buckeyes’ 37-17 win over Maryland. Seven of his eight receptions resulted in first downs and his 17-yard TD reception gave the Buckeyes a 34-17 lead with 7:01 remaining in the game.

Harrison Jr. has 25 receptions for 499 yards on the season and four touchdowns. His 20.0 yards-per-catch average ranks 12th nationally among players with 15 or more receptions. Last Saturday’s game was the 10th of his career in which he had 100 or more yards receiving, which ties him with Garrett Wilson and Michael Jenkins for third-most in program history. David Boston holds the record with 14 100-yard games.
