NHL News: NHL on TNT to Begin 2023-24 Season Coverage with Marquee Opening Week Doubleheader — Wednesday, Oct. 11

Extended NHL on TNT Face Off Presented by Verizon Pregame at 6:30 p.m. ET, with Wayne Gretzky, Paul Bissonnette, Anson Carter, Henrik Lundqvist & Liam McHugh

Boston Bruins & Captain Brad Marchand to Host Rookie Phenom Connor Bedard & Chicago Blackhawks at 7:30 p.m. ET

Nathan MacKinnon & Colorado Avalanche to Battle Anže Kopitar & Los Angeles Kings at 10 p.m.

NHL on TNT will enter its third season of critically acclaimed coverage this Wednesday, October 11 with a blockbuster doubleheader — simulcast across TNT and the B/R Sports Add-On tier on Max — as well as expansive studio coverage featuring Wayne Gretzky, Calder Cup winner Paul Bissonnette, 10-year NHL veteran Anson Carter, and 2023 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Henrik Lundqvist, alongside host Liam McHugh.

The network’s opening week of games will highlight one of the biggest storylines in the League, as #1 draft pick Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks will travel to play the Presidents’ Trophy-winning Boston Bruins and their newly named captain Brad Marchand at 7:30 p.m. ET in an Original Six showdown. Kenny Albert will be on the call, along with Eddie Olcyzk in the booth and Brian Boucher at ice level.

Later at 10 p.m., TNT will feature a star-studded matchup in the City of Angels between Anže Kopitar, Kevin Fiala and the Los Angeles Kings hosting Cale Makar, Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche. Brendan Burke will call the game, alongside Jennifer Botterill and Darren Pang.

The night’s coverage will begin at 6:30 p.m. with an hour-long NHL on TNT Face Off Presented by Verizon pregame show hosted by McHugh, joined by Gretzky, Carter, Bissonnette and Lundqvist. The NHL on TNT studio team will also provide analysis and insights between periods during the Lexus First Intermission Report and the Discover Second Intermission Report.

The 2023-24 NHL on TNT regular season schedule will feature the biggest stars and rivalries in hockey, including coverage on 28 Wednesday nights throughout the season as well as a doubleheader on Tuesday, Nov. 7 — Detroit Red Wings vs. New York Rangers at 7:30 p.m. and New Jersey Devils vs. Colorado Avalanche at 10 p.m. — and the annual NHL Thanksgiving Showdown on Friday, Nov. 24 (Pittsburgh Penguins at Buffalo Sabres at 6 p.m., Avalanche at Minnesota Wild at 8:30 p.m.).

NHL on TNT will also be the exclusive U.S. home of the 2024 Discover NHL Winter Classic, pitting Calder Memorial Trophy winner Matty Beniers and the Seattle Kraken against the 2023 Stanley Cup Champion Vegas Golden Knights, led by Conn Smythe Trophy winner Jonathan Marchessault, Jack Eichel and Mark Stone at T-Mobile Park — home of the Seattle Mariners — on Monday, Jan. 1. This will be the network’s third consecutive year broadcasting the highly anticipated annual outdoor event.

Starting Feb. 25, TNT will broadcast eight weeks of Sunday afternoon telecasts through the end of the season, spotlighting teams around the league hoping to make a final push towards the playoffs.

All NHL on TNT’s regular season and Stanley Cup Playoffs games, as well as pre and postgame coverage, will be available to stream via the B/R Sports Add-On tier on Max.

NHL on TNT games will also be available via the TNT app on mobile, tablet and connected TV devices and at TNTDrama.com; fans will be able to access the games by logging in with the username and password provided by their TV service provider.
