Texas Football head coach Steve Sarkisian earned the honor following the Longhorns’ victory at Alabama.
HOUSTON – Texas Football head coach Steve Sarkisian was voted the Bryant Awards Fan Favorite of the Week, the organization announced on Tuesday. Sarkisian guided the Longhorns to a 34-24 victory over Tuscaloosa on Saturday, snapping the Crimson Tide’s 21-game home winning streak. Fans can vote for Coach Sarkisian throughout the season here: https://bryantawards.org/college-coaches/steve-sarkisian/.
The Longhorns’ win also halted Alabama’s 57-game regular-season winning streak against nonconference teams, while the double-digit margin of victory was the first at home for the Crimson Tide during the Nick Saban era.
The Bryant Award Fan Vote runs through conference championship weekend in December. The coach that ends the season with the most votes will be celebrated during the live televised broadcast of the Paul “Bear” Bryant Awards on January 11, 2024, during which the Bryant Coach of the Year is announced.
